It started as an idea, and turned into a successful clothing brand...
COMMEMORATIVE MILITARY T-SHIRTS, HOODIES AND CAPS
As we enter our 16th year in business, customers have enabled D-Day Wear® to donate over $74,155.00 to various organizations, through products sales of our unique line of Baseball Cap, Sweatshirt, and T-shirt designs. $54,250 went to the Juno Beach Centre in Normandy, France. Where we participated in honouring every fallen Canadian soldier from the D-Day Invasion with their Name on a memorial pillar on the very beach where they gave their all. We were able to have everything in place for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014 and for that we thank you.
We have changed our current philanthropic direction and we are now donating to programs which serve war veterans that deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.).
After dealing with the past, now it is time to deal with the present, so that our soldiers have a future. In the United States alone, over 22 Veterans take their lives each day, this doesn't even take into consideration the number of First Responders that have taken their lives. One can only wonder what the worldwide total is. It is time for us a s a society to stand up and look after those who stood and went where we could not to protect our freedoms and keep us safe.
From your purchases and donations $1,500 has been donated to VETS Canada's Guitars for Vets program, which is based on a simple concept: Veterans and currently serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP who suffer with PTSD or other service-related injuries or disabilities will be provided with a new or gently used guitar.
2019 was a good year for us, we made a donation in kind of $8405.00 of idle and discontinued stock to the Friends of HMCS HAIDA gift shop for their fundraising initiatives, with an additional $2,000 donated to National Service Dogs.
It costs up to $30,000 to train a P.T.S.D. service dog and that there is a waiting list for those who require one. Over the last three years, through the gracious support of our customers, we have been able to donate $10,000. to National Service Dogs located in Cambridge, Ontario.
We recently released a song called 'This Flag Flies Free' to raise funds for World-Wide Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Organizations. Listen to the song, download it and share it with your friends. The song and video are here at www.thisflagfliesfree.com
